Work Canada Programme Co-ordinator
A programme co-ordinator is required to work within the busy Work America/Work Canada Department. This is a full-time temporary post based at BUNAC’s London office in Clerkenwell. Initially the job will be contracted until July 2009, there is the possibility of the contract being extended.
This is a varied and challenging role and the ideal candidate will have proven office experience and possess exceptional organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
The main role of the Programme Co-ordinator is to administer the Work Canada programme. This involves but is not limited to checking and processing applications, processing visa applications and flight and insurance bookings. Other tasks that will be undertaken include answering queries via the telephone, e-mail and face to face and you will also be required to present talks in our London office and rep our group flight departures. There will also be the opportunity to assist with marketing the programmes at promotional events that are held throughout the year around the country and assist in updating and compiling programme literature. Although your main role is to administer the Work Canada programme as part of the Work America department you will also be required to have a working knowledge of this programme.
Essential:
- Previous administrative experience
- Ability to work as part of a team
- A good eye for detail and good time management skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- A positive and friendly attitude and the ability to work calmly during busy periods.
- Personal experience of living and working in Canada.
- Ability to work unsupervised
Desirable:
- Personal experience of participation in BUNAC’s Work Canada programme.
- Previous presentation experience
- Knowledge of travelling and/or working in America
Normal hours of work are 9.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 9.30am to 5pm on Friday, although when repping flights or at promotional events the applicant must be prepared to work outwith these hours.
There is a holiday allowance of 20 days (plus statutory public holidays) per annum pro rated for the period of employment. The opportunity to join a nearby gym which is partially funded is available.
